The F-51D Mustang is the postwar designation for the famous North American P-51D Mustang of World War II. The quality, fit & detail of the Tamiya 1/72 North American P-51D Mustang & North American F-51D Mustang model kits are entirely in a league of their own when compared to other kits of this aircraft type produced before or since.With their F-51D Mustang kit, besides the obvious decal selections, Tamiya was careful to add additional details that set the postwar Mustang apart from the wartime Mustang. It includes an optional Aero-Products paddle blade propeller which was frequently fitted to postwar F-51D Mustangs, 6 5" High Velocity Air Rockets, 2 500 Lb Bombs & the same 2 75 gallon drop tanks included with Tamiya's P-51D Mustang kit.Tamiya also went the extra mile by providing an all new rear canopy base so as to allow it to be fitted with one of two canopy options including the standard model or the more bulbous "Dallas Canopy." Finally Tamiya also included a model stand with this version of their 1/72 scale Mustang.This model kit is nearly universally recommended by builders of models in this scale & time period. It's only drawback is that oftentimes it's more expensive than the offerings from other brands. Still if you aren't intimidated by detail & you want to have the options needed for many post-war Mustangs straight out of the box then you'll absolute get what you paid for!

さすがのタミヤ製です、計器版のデカールは一々計器の塗装をするのが面倒だと思っている私にとっては途轍もなくありがたいモノです。これで大型のドロップタンクなどのアクセサリーが有れば御の字なのですがH社のムスタングから流用するなり、P-47から流用するなりして楽しんでも良いと思います。大戦中の機体のデカールをタミヤさんも出してくれないかなぁって思います。

An excellent kit in all respects. The aircraft itself is an interesting and colourfulsubject and quality of the mouldings and decals is good.
