The buckle is sound and there are actually 2 buckles, not just 1, which might be useful for some people. I guess that is the main thing for most people. However, a few observations from my experience:1) If you have a strap width of 45mm, buy a 50mm buckle. I don't think it was completely clear from the description, although this might just be my interpretation.2) One of the buckles will fit "in line" with a strap, but the other requires a loop. Therefore, if you are replacing buckles on a waist band of a backpack, this won't be suitable because you need both the male and female ends to fit "in line". I had to tie a knot in my strap to get round this, but it isn't ideal. I now need to buy a replacement.Overall, it is a strong buckle, but beware of size and what type of buckle you need for the straps you have.
