I use this when I go out for my walks. A lot of times I'm the only woman in the areas. I feel an extra sense of security when I have this body camera on. It's easy to use and it came with a memory card²

Price at time of review (May 2024): 41,99$Coupon available: noneThe image quality of this body camera is average at best. If you need high-quality footage for YouTube videos, this won't suffice. However, it is adequate for capturing "proof" footage. One advantage for that is that it doesn't look much like a typical body camera, making it less noticeable.A downside is that you can't see the screen when it's installed, so there's no visual cue to confirm recording has started. You need to have muscle memory of the exact location of the recording button if you want to capture specific moments. And pray you hit it correctly. The biggest drawback is that the clip only mounts horizontally (between shirt buttons, for example), not vertically (such as on a pocket). This can be inconvenient if you usually wear polo shirts.SummaryAverage image quality, discreet, no recording cue, horizontal-only clip. Suitable for proof footage, not for high-quality video.

This is a decent body camera that seems reasonably well-constructed in comparison to most others with similar spec and for the most part works as expected without issues as long as you're aware of what the limitations are and what it can or cannot do. The video quality is average and typical of most other budget body cameras that claim to have 1080p or even 1296p as is the case for this one; however, because no info is provided for the underlying sensor and/or chip, it's impossible to determine the REAL capabilities of the camera lens.≡ Build qualityThe physical build quality seems fine and it's comparable to most others with similar design and/or price tag; it's not great but it certainly serves the purpose and it doesn't necessarily feel cheap. It also comes with a 64GB Micro SD card that many others don't so that's certainly a point in its favor although some others do come with a card reader should you find it useful (I don't) as well and a SIM card ejection pin (for reset).≡ FeaturesIt has various button at both left and right side of the camera and they are for the most part intuitive and straightforward so no detailed discussion is required although I can't say I like the layout and/or placement of the buttons, especially for where the power button is. Generally, the buttons should be placed toward the top with the most frequently used ones above others for easier access but that's not the case for this particular device; clearly no thoughts have been put into the design aspects of these.Nonetheless, I'll very briefly describe some of the most common or key features. Press the hold the power button (pic 7, bottom right) to turn it on/off. Slide the video recording button (one with red dot on it, at the right) up to enable recording (default 5min loop recording) and slide it downward to stop recording. Slide the audio button (top-most) at the right to start audio recording ONLY and back down to stop the recording. There is also a snapshot button (pic 8) for a quick and easy way to take photos. Simple enough.Long press the MENU (M) button (pic 8, at the left) to navigate to the configuration menu where various configurations can be set (pic 14-17). It's powered by USB-C, which is great and significantly better than those that still use Micro USB (which should be avoided if possible since they're likely OLD inventories). It has 4x IR LEDs (pic 11) but they are rather limited in their range so unless the object is fairly close, it really wouldn't do much at all. The image can also be rotated or mirrored if necessary (pic 15) and of course the lens can be tilted 180° (pic 12, up/down) as well. Lastly, it comes with a [belt] clip and a bike mount for it to be attached to, well, whatever you wanna attach it to. I should also mention that while the bike mount works reasonably well, the same can't be said for the clip since it's NOT exactly easy to be attached to the body camera and the overall design of the clip isn't really that good either.Lastly, the video is encoded with a MOV container and AVC (1080p) or JPEG (1296p) as the video codec, depending upon the resolution selected. When 1080p is selected, it uses CABAC and 1 ReFrame along with a Baseline@3.0 profile and variable bitrate; all of which are common settings for low quality videos. However, when 1296p is selected, it actually uses JPEG as the video codec which is rather disappointing to see although the overall video quality appears to be just a tad bit better than AVC especially for non-fast motion scenes. Btw, FPS for 1080p is 29.970 and 25.000 for 1296p. PCM is used for audio for both resolutions and there should be no surprises there.≡ LimitationsSo what are the limitations? Well, the video quality really isn't that great and if you are used to the video from your cell phone, the quality (both 1080p/1296p) between them is for the most part night and day. If you have one of those budget dashcam, its quality is comparable to most 1080p dashcam which is just average. The video/image is mostly grainy that lacks any sort of detail unless the object is relatively close, say 1-2 metres away. I'd say it will be VERY difficult to get any sort of details if it's 3+ metres away and the faster the motion, the more blurry the video would be; that's just common sense.≡ NoteHere is a bit of technical details for those who are interested. The AVC encoded videos is (or at least seems to be) slightly more grainy than the JPEG encoded videos due to their encoding parameters; however, the JEPG encoded videos have noticeable jagged and rough edges in comparison and this is called aliasing. Various AA (anti-aliasing) techniques are often used to counteract this but that's not the case here for 1296p videos and that can be a significant turnoff for some people although the video can appear to be slightly sharper at times. It really depends on what your use case is for this but if you are looking for any sort of clear and/or detailed video and thinking this will deliver because it's advertised as being 1296p/FHD 1080p, then you will be royally disappointed and the video quality is nothing like the REAL 1080p video that you can download from the web or even from your cable TV/online streaming services. This body camera will undoubtedly capture things that have happened; however, it will NOT or at least very unlikely to provide with you sufficient details to identify anything that's more than a few meters away or something reasonably small, such as word or numbers with adequate certainty that you'd like to have unless they are relatively close to you (no more than 2-3 metres under a clear day).It goes without saying that insufficient light or even a cloudy day will further worsen the video quality. As for night recording, well, identification of face would be nearly impossible unless the person within 1-2 metres in front of you and NOT moving (and that's being generous). Don't get me wrong; it will definitely captures events that are taking place; however, to what degree can the video be used as proof, evidence, or anything else, is really up to the criteria set forth by what you intend to do with it which I can't comment. The following is the media spec of the original/unmodified MOV files produced by the body camera, for those who are interested. The first is AVC encoded (1080p) and the 2nd is JEPG (1296p) encoded.Note: the "***" denotes parameters of interest.# AVC/1080p###GeneralComplete name: MOVA0002.movFormat: MPEG-4 ***Format profile: QuickTimeCodec ID: qt 0000.02 (qt )File size: 17.8 MiBDuration: 24 s 833 msOverall bit rate: 6 020 kb/sVideoID: 1Format: AVC ***Format/Info: Advanced Video CodecFormat profile: High@L4.1 ***Format settings, CABAC: Yes ***Format settings, ReFrames: 1 frame ***Format settings, GOP: M=1, N=6 ***Muxing mode: Container profile=Baseline@3.0Codec ID: avc1Codec ID/Info: Advanced Video CodingDuration: 24 s 833 msBit rate: 5 770 kb/sWidth: 1 920 pixelsHeight: 1 080 pixelsDisplay aspect ratio: 16:9Frame rate mode: VariableFrame rate: 29.970 (29970/1000) FPS ****Minimum frame rate: 19.231 FPSMaximum frame rate: 125.000 FPSColor space: YUV ***Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0Bit depth: 8 bitsScan type: ProgressiveBits/(Pixel*Frame): 0.093Stream size: 17.1 MiB (96%)Language: EnglishAudioID: 2Format: PCM ***Format settings, Endianness: LittleFormat settings, Sign: SignedCodec ID: sowtDuration: 24 s 0 msBit rate mode: Constant ***Bit rate: 256 kb/s ***Channel(s): 1 channel ***Sampling rate: 16.0 kHz ***Bit depth: 16 bits ***Stream size: 750 KiB (4%)Language: EnglishEncoded date: UTC 2002-10-29 03:32:30Tagged date: UTC 2002-10-29 03:32:30#### JPEG/1296p###GeneralComplete name: MOVA0007.movFormat: MPEG-4 ***Format profile: QuickTimeCodec ID: qt 0000.02 (qt )File size: 60.7 MiBDuration: 23 s 34 msOverall bit rate: 22.1 Mb/sVideoID: 1Format: JPEG ***Codec ID: jpegDuration: 23 s 34 msBit rate: 21.8 Mb/sWidth: 2 304 pixelsHeight: 1 296 pixelsDisplay aspect ratio: 16:9Frame rate mode: VariableFrame rate: 25.000 FPS ****Minimum frame rate: 24.390 FPSMaximum frame rate: 30.303 FPS ***Color space: YUV ***Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0Bit depth: 8 bits ***Compression mode: LossyBits/(Pixel*Frame): 0.292Stream size: 59.9 MiB (99%)Language: EnglishAudioID: 2Format: PCM ***Format settings, Endianness: LittleFormat settings, Sign: SignedCodec ID: sowtDuration: 23 s 0 msBit rate mode: Constant ***Bit rate: 256 kb/s ***Channel(s): 1 channel ***Sampling rate: 16.0 kHz ***Bit depth: 16 bits ***Stream size: 719 KiB (1%)Language: English###≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a reasonably decent body camera that seems well-constructed and works as expected without issues as long you're aware of what its limitations are and what it can or cannot do. 5 out of 5 Stars (5)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐[TL;DR][QUALITY] (5/5)[VALUE] (5/5)[EASE OF USE] (5/5)[MET EXPECTATIONS] (5/5)[PACKAGING] (5/5)[REVIEW REMARKS]This is a really tiny body camera. It comes with an English and French users manual. The setup is really simple, but I will warn you that the buttons are small and close together. This makes it difficult to navigate if you have larger fingers, like I happen to have. The onboard screen is clear, but also really tiny. It is manageable, but your viewing is best suited for when you are connected to a computer in USB drive mode. The kit comes with a power cable, bike mounted holder, 64GB card(upgradable to 256GB), and a clip to attach the camera to your person. In the video, it showed a longer clip that rotated, the smaller clip does not rotate. I wish that it did.The camera can face front, back, and off towards the end. These are the camera angles you can use depending on your use case. As mentioned, the clip does not rotate, so you will need to figure out the most beneficial camera angle to get the desired results. You are able to set video clip length, quality, exposure etc. in the onboard settings. These settings are able to customize. The video quality is decent for the size of the camera. However, the same cannot be said with the photo quality. I was not overly impressed on the quality of photos. The pictures are only clear when viewed in a smaller size, the larger the photo, the more pixelated it is. Photo quality is not conducive to using this for professional purposes. The video quality is decent for the size of the camera. However, the video is activated by sliding a button, it also will record audio using the record audio only toggle. This is very handy. There is a motion sensor built in which I assume only works when certain motion is detected. It is OK for me to use when I need to capture something memorable. This body camera is not 'ever-on' by default, so it only captures up to 10 minutes of video at a time on a loop, and it can loop and record over older footage/files to conserve space (but you can turn off loop and record constant video in 10 min block per video). The card can be upgraded to a 256GB card to increase the storage space, which will extend your camera to be able to record 39 hours of video at 1080P resolution. This does not mean you would record this length of video, due to battery life limitations. This may not be suitable for professions requiring evidentiary continuity or context. Professions such as police and security investigators should not select this a body camera to wear for evidence collection, due to these limitations that could call evidence into question, or could die in the middle of recording because of operators failure to maintain their equipment. The motion detection and night vision are cool features, and could extend you battery life. The night vision is in black and white, with decent clarity, especially for environments with low light present. All in all, this is an affordable solution to use when working, cycling/walking, or similar. The clips are long enough to capture events on video, but the time recorded is only up to 10 minutes on loop. I cannot see a way to extend this without turning off loop. However, the camera is a decent choice. It is easy to setup and use. Files can be transferred to PC via the USB-C cable, which is included. The clip that is included is the weak link for this product. They really should have included a 360° clip that is capable to spin, but can be locked in place after setting. Opportunity lost, in this case. Lacking a proper cloud based backup in real time would negate these from being used by law enforcement. The video can be tampered with by the user, or third parties. However, for what it is, it is a decent body worn camera. Recommended for hobbyists, outdoor enthusiasts, and perhaps couriers. In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

Flimsy manufacturing. Although video/picture quality was pretty good, the materials were sub-par.
