Purple is our grand daughters favourite colour, and the fact that the cap is also glittery is a bonus so I got this for when she's off on her Spanish summer holiday.I did wonder how well the sequins would stay affixed to what appeared to be cloth type construction for the cap, but upon unpacking found it was made from a sort of woven polyester mesh construction. The sequins are probably then sprinkled over the mesh after an application of spray adhesive. I'd wager the fastest loss of sequins will be from the area around the adjustable velcro strap and from handling of the peak of the cap. The construction does make the cap quite light to wear though, but I wonder about the claim of the inner side being made of "soft breathable material, with an internal sweatband" if, as I presume the outer is sealed with spray on adhesive to retain the sparkly sequins.The size of the cap is fairly large and it's peak should offer good shade for the face and eyes. It's described as being one size for all ages, but i'd say in most cases the child would need to be around 4-5 years old minimum to fit on the head properly.As for the sunglasses, these have a one colour frame and are not in any way sparkly - which I only mention because the description does say "a matching pair of sunglasses." They appear quite sturdy and with secure hinges for folding. The lenses are stated to offer 100% UV protection, which is what you'd want for your child. I tried viewing through the lenses and they appeared to have good clarity and with no peripheral distortion.Obviously all the above is written from an adult perspective, and children will be more interested in the look and being fashionable. In that respect this set ticks a lot of boxes, but from a parental view it does at least also afford a good degree of protection from sun stroke and eye protection. At the stated price of £8.99 it's not a bad buy either.
